Job Summary
The Field Support Specialist will provide advanced corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support across multiple solar facilities as a regional technical resource. Responsibilities include performing detailed electrical testing and repair of low, medium, and high voltage systems, utilizing system monitoring applications to diagnose issues, and supporting root cause analysis efforts. Candidates should possess strong electrical and mechanical knowledge with a minimum of three years in the utility-scale solar sector, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in various weather conditions. Safety practices, document management, and collaboration with internal teams are central to the role.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent
- Minimum three years of experience in utility-scale solar and/or a related electrical power industry
- Strong corrective maintenance and troubleshooting background
- Demonstrated understanding of safe electrical and mechanical practices
- Strong working knowledge of utility-scale solar systems
- Ability to troubleshoot network, communications, and telemetry-related issues
- Valid OSHA 10 certification
- Valid NFPA 70E Safety Training certification
- Effective verbal and written English language communication skills
- Ability to work independently at remote locations in extreme weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Certificate in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or Mechanics
- Inverter Field Application Specialist (FAS) certifications or other relevant electrical certifications
- Substation training and/or certifications
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work on an on-call basis (may include weekends or after-hours situations)
