Job Summary
Field Support Specialist providing Solaris and Linux hardware support (Oracle components including ZFS, Exadata, and Oracle Database Appliances) and on-site service desk coverage. Responsibilities include on-site support, hardware and software issue resolution via email/phone/IM, maintaining on-site ticketing queue, traveling to customer sites for hardware fixes, communicating with customers, meeting contract SLAs, escalating issues as needed, coordinating with data center staff, creating break/fix/work order requests, maintaining on-site spares, following government security policies, and conducting weekly checks with customers on supported hardware/software. Requires expertise in troubleshooting Oracle and Sun Systems hardware, firmware, and software problems, and experience with firmware/software patching; minimum 2 years of relevant experience; TS/SCI clearance.
