Job Summary
Manage supply inventory, distribute work, and review assignments for accuracy while acting as second in command to the Shift Supervisor. Inspect field personnel, quarters, and units to ensure EMS standards, collaborate with maintenance for fleet safety, and determine patient medical disposition enroute to the hospital. Review daily schedules to address gaps, handle hospital and customer complaints, and ensure crews complete ePCRs timely. Initiate disciplinary actions per operating procedures and attend required management meetings. Maintain operational fleet status by communicating daily vehicle checkout sheets to the Operations Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Current State EMT-P certification
- Currently enrolled in Paramedic course/class
- 1 year of experience as an FTO
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC) class completion
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services
- Knowledge of company medical director approved protocols and standing orders
- Ability to read and interpret local maps
- Demonstrated skills in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous, and rapidly emergent tasks
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to write reports, and correspondence
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding patient care, EMS operations and other customer service issues
- Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer systems including PCR reporting, email, and MDT applications
- Demonstrated ability to represent the company and other team members as an EMS professional
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others
