Job Summary
Manage daily field operations by assigning and distributing work, reviewing assignments for accuracy, and ensuring crews complete ePCRs timely. Maintain supply system management through inventorying, ordering, receiving, and issuing medical and office supplies while overseeing operational fleet status and vehicle checkouts. Inspect field personnel, quarters, and units to ensure conformity of EMS standards, review and report all incidents and accidents per company policy, and handle hospital and customer complaints. Collaborate with communications and maintenance departments to maximize resource utilization and ensure safe vehicle performance. Initiate disciplinary actions as needed and act as second in command to the Shift Supervisor during required absences.
Required Qualifications
- Current State EMT-P certification
- Currently enrolled in Paramedic course/class
- 1 year of experience as an FTO
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC) class completion
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services
- Knowledge of company medical director approved protocols and standing orders
- Ability to read and interpret local maps
- Demonstrated skills in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous, and rapidly emergent tasks
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to write reports, and correspondence
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding patient care, EMS operations and other customer service issues
- Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer systems including PCR reporting, email, and MDT applications
- Demonstrated ability to represent the company and other team members as an EMS professional
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others
