Field Supervisor

Job Summary

Provide visible support to Care Professionals in the community through observation, spot checks, and direct engagement to ensure care aligns with plans and standards. Conduct competency assessments and signoffs for medication administration, moving and handling, and catheter care while identifying training needs and contributing to development plans. Act as a trusted point of contact for staff, offering mentoring, reassurance, and guidance to build confidence and support retention. Deliver direct care where required, including emergency cover and supporting assessments or transitions, while maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures. Report directly to the Registered Care Manager and manage Service Reviews and quality assurance calls.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience providing care within a domiciliary care setting
  • Understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, and risk management
  • Competence in medication, moving and handling, catheter care, and other specialist care areas
  • Relevant Assessor qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to wider teams
  • This role is subject to DBS enhanced disclosure

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a supervisory, senior carer, or mentoring role
  • Familiarity with regulatory inspection frameworks (e.g. CQC)
  • Experience supporting staff retention and engagement initiatives
