Job Summary
Conduct daily field operations as second-in-command to the Shift Supervisor, assigning work, reviewing accuracy, and initiating disciplinary actions per Central EMS policy. Manage patient medical disposition, transport, and en-route care while collaborating with communications and maintenance to optimize resource utilization. Inspect personnel, quarters, and units against standards, report all incidents, and attend required management meetings. Requires current Georgia EMT-P or Paramedic certification, EVOC completion, and ability to handle hazardous conditions, irregular schedules, and rapid multitasking in emergency settings.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Georgia EMT-P certification or currently enrolled in Paramedic course/class
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC) class completion
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services
- Knowledge of company medical director approved protocols and standing orders
- Ability to read and interpret local maps
- Demonstrated skills in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous, and rapidly emergent tasks
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to write reports, and correspondence
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding patient care, Central EMS operations and other customer service issues
- Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer systems including PCR reporting, email, and MDT applications
- Demonstrated ability to represent Central EMS and other team members as an EMS professional
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others
