Field Supervisor

Job Summary
Supervise all aspects of installation, including planning, organizing, and directing personnel, resources, and materials while adhering to strict safety policies and company core values. Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, and specifications to perform system testing, troubleshooting, and validate scope of work against project standards. Collaborate with scheduling administrators to maintain a 2-5 week look-ahead schedule for personnel, equipment, and materials, while accurately reporting project status to leadership and clients. Mentor technicians as a subject matter expert, develop standard operating procedures, and share best practices across sites to drive problem-solving and ensure compliance with industry codes. This role requires travel as needed and involves working in both indoor office and construction environments, including lifting up to 40 pounds and operating scissor lifts or boom lifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- OSHA 30 within the first 2 weeks in the role
- Minimum 3-6 years work experience in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction experience
- Minimum 3 years of supervision and/or training experience, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments
- BICSI Certified Technician, must be earned within 12 months in role
- Ability to supervise and train employees to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments
- Ability to understand and effectively explain every aspect of the structured cabling system including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and interconnections, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, industry best practices and the ability to make recommendations
- Working knowledge of the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) guides and standards
- Working knowledge of fundamental business practices and processes
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Ability to develop and anchor standard operating procedures that effectively empower installation teams to deliver value to the client
- Effective performance management skills
- Working knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet
- The individual in this position should be able and willing to travel as required by E2
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- BICSI Installer 2 Copper preferred
- BICSI Installer 2 Fiber preferred
- Obtain company-approved (manufacturer) certifications
- Obtain BICSI RTPM (Registered Telecommunications Project Manager)
