Job Summary
Field Service Technician role performing installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of field service products at customer sites worldwide. Responsible for offshore/onshore field activities, troubleshooting equipment, and providing feedback to Engineering for process improvements. Requires independent work in remote environments with approximately 50% travel domestically and internationally. Mentors Field Service Technicians I & II; strong fiber-optic splicing and termination in field environments; knowledge of offshore operations, safety protocols, and customer requirements. Proficient with standard electronic test equipment and reading blueprints; effective communication with internal departments and project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- AS degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience in a workshop environment
- Field Service experience essential
- Electrical and Fiber Optic background preferred
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with fiber-optic splicing and termination in field environments
- Ability to read blueprints, procedures, specifications
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Proficient in use of standard electronic test equipment (i.e., multimeter, megohmmeter, temperature measurement)
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel
