Field Services Technician - Tier II

Job Summary

Perform independent installations and repairs for residential customers, installing and configuring customer equipment including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways. Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues with accuracy, while installing, terminating, and testing network cabling in accordance with relevant codes and standards. Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, including ladders and bucket trucks, adhering to all safety protocols and DOT/OSHA regulations. Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities and deliver an exceptional customer experience during all visits. This role requires travel to Lebanon and surrounding areas, working in most conditions including outdoors in various weather and both underground and aerial environments. Candidates must maintain a clean driving record, possess a valid driver's license, and be willing to participate in an on-call rotation that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, and utility work
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays
  • Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, including installation, termination, and testing
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and basic networking principles
  • Ability to test and install customer ADSL/xDSL circuit orders with the appropriate local exchange carrier (LEC)
  • Knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, closet buildouts, and compliance with building and fire codes
