Job Summary
Perform independent residential installations and repairs, installing and configuring customer equipment such as routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways. Terminate and test network cabling while adhering to relevant codes, standards, and safety protocols including DOT/OSHA regulations. Manage daily ticketed scheduling using a company vehicle to deliver driveway-to-driveway service, ensuring professional customer interactions and accurate documentation of all activities. Operate ladders and bucket trucks safely in various weather conditions, maintaining a clean driving record and representing the company with integrity. Work an on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to work Saturdays and Sundays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, including installation, termination, and testing.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and basic networking principles.
- Ability to test and install customer ADSL/xDSL circuit orders with the appropriate local exchange carrier (LEC).
- Knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, closet buildouts, and compliance with building and fire codes.
- A strong aptitude for learning and a desire to grow your skills and knowledge.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach to your work.
- A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A strong sense of urgency and dedication to following through on all tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
