Job Summary
Perform independent installations and repairs for residential and business internet and phone services, managing a company vehicle and ticketed scheduling system to execute driveway-to-driveway installations. Install and configure customer equipment including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways while diagnosing connectivity issues and terminating network cabling to relevant codes. Deliver professional service visits and complete accurate documentation of all activities, adhering to safety protocols for operating ladders and bucket trucks in various weather conditions. Requires on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
- Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, including installation, termination, and testing.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and basic networking principles.
- Ability to test and install customer ADSL/xDSL circuit orders with the appropriate local exchange carrier (LEC).
