Job Summary

Perform independent residential fiber installations and repairs, configuring customer equipment like routers and modems while installing and testing network cabling. Manage daily ticketed scheduling using a company vehicle to conduct driveway-to-driveway service visits, adhering to all safety protocols and DOT/OSHA regulations. Complete accurate documentation of service activities and maintain a clean driving record while representing Socket professionally. Work in various weather conditions, including underground and aerial environments up to 32 feet, with an on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift 70 lbs, and operating a bucket truck. Join a mission-driven team focused on bringing high-speed internet access to underserved communities.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays
  • Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, including installation, termination, and testing
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and basic networking principles
  • Ability to test and install customer ADSL/xDSL circuit orders with the appropriate local exchange carrier (LEC)
  • Knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, closet buildouts, and compliance with building and fire codes
  • A strong aptitude for learning and a desire to grow your skills and knowledge
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach to your work
  • A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • A strong sense of urgency and dedication to following through on all tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrates a strong safety focus and consistently maintains safety measures
