Job Summary
Install, commission, and maintain satellite ground station infrastructure for defence, government, and commercial customers across Australia and international sites. Perform mechanical assembly, alignment, and preventative maintenance on antenna systems, mounts, and pedestals while diagnosing and rectifying field-deployed equipment faults. Complete site establishment activities including delivery, inspection, and commissioning, ensuring full compliance with quality, safety, and environmental requirements. Submit field service reports and documentation, utilizing mechanical and precision alignment tools to support manufacturing and factory acceptance testing when not deployed. Requires valid Australian driver's licence, ability to obtain security clearances, and willingness to travel for remote project-based deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience installing, maintaining, or commissioning mechanical equipment in defence, telecommunications, mining, infrastructure, or industrial environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation
- Experience using mechanical hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and precision alignment equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances as required
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (e.g., NV1 etc)
- Australian citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Experience building/working with satellite communications or antenna systems
- Working at Heights, EWP, Forklift, Dogging/Rigging/Crane certifications/experience
- Valid Australian driver's licence
