Job Summary
Assist winding operations in a productive manner that meets manufacturing specifications on turbine generator field and factory equipment, including stators, rotors, exciters, and voltage regulators. Perform electro-mechanical testing and servicing, execute inspections, specialty services, and related work assignments while communicating task criteria with leaders and peers. Complete and maintain weekly Time and Expense reports, operate machinery such as Hytorq equipment and power tools, and enter generator frames to perform assembly, machining, and tool setup tasks. Work at customer sites domestically and internationally, traveling up to 100% of the time to meet aggressive schedules while adhering to safety, quality, and schedule standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or recognized equivalent
- two years related industrial experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time, both domestically and internationally
- Availability to work at customer sites and be able to meet the demands of aggressive schedules
- Must be able to enter and exit generators and work in awkward positions inside a generator frame
- Must be able to climb ladders/scaffold to connect water skids and assist the field engineer in testing operations in various areas of the generator
- Must be able to operate machinery such as Hytorq equipment, pneumatic wedging guns, sanders, saws, etc.
- Knowledge and proficient use of common tools, including hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers) and power tools (e.g., drills, grinders), to support precise and efficient winding tasks
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
