Job Summary
Field Service Welder in a field environment responsible for welding, fabricating, rebuilding, and repairing heavy equipment and parts. Duties include welding/salvage on frames, engines, hydraulic systems, and power-train components; diagnosing issues with testing/diagnostic tools; fabricating repairs; maintaining welding equipment; ordering/returning parts; and ensuring safety compliance. Requires independent work in the field, a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, and completion of OSHA/MSHA training. Strong emphasis on precise fabrication, inspection, and adherence to Thompson Tractor’s core values.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical repairs or equivalent experience
- Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills
- OSHA and MSHA required training
- Vendor technical sites (Infocast, Liftnet, SIMSi, etc.)
