Job Summary
Manage the localized technical training program and Area Training Center to strengthen retailer technician capability and drive customer loyalty. Deliver high-quality training facilitation for technicians and internal staff, conduct comprehensive student assessments, and enforce ATC policies for consistent SOA compliance. Plan and manage operational needs including calendars, dispatch scores, and facility assets while maintaining expert-level technical knowledge and ASE certifications. Lead special projects, build relationships with community organizations, and represent Subaru on school advisory boards and national conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required
- H.S. Diploma and equivalent automotive-related work experience in lieu of degree required
- At least 6-8 years required
- Collaborative, team-oriented work style
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Skilled in providing constructive feedback and clear direction
- Ability to perform vehicle repairs in a shop environment while following established Subaru of America (SOA) and industry standard safety guidelines
- Strong background in hands-on automotive repair and diagnosis
- Strong conflict resolution and creative thinking skills
- Strong organization, planning, and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task effectively across physical and digital work
- ASE Automobile & Light Truck Certifications (A1 - A8) - Master Automobile Technician
- ASE Advanced Engine Performance Specialist Certification (L1), Required
- ASE Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist Certification (L3)
- ASE Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Specialist Certification (L4)
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in automotive/technical field required
- High School Diploma and equivalent automotive-related work experience in lieu of a degree and 6-8 years' experience
- Lifting up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to move equipment and training aides weighing up to 400 pounds complying with appropriate OSHA lifting standards/ equipment
- Must be able to drive a manual transmission equipped vehicle
- Travel Required: 20 -30%
