Job Summary
X-ray Field Service Technician responsible for installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of Nikon Metrology X-ray products. This Remote role (Minnesota) requires extensive travel (80%+) across North America with potential limited international travel. Key duties include field service installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting of system failures, software training, in-house testing and repairs, and providing technical product services aligned with SOPs; support to Nikon dealers and sales personnel; promotion of service contracts and other offerings. Requires a 2-year technical degree and 2+ years in a technical role (or >4 years in a technical role), ITAR access, strong communication, and proficiency with electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, plus hands-on skills with tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron) and ability to read schematics. Must be able to travel, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in field/customer environments.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in a technical role or >4 years’ experience in a technical role
- 2-year technical degree
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport and ability to travel outside of the United States
- Ability to travel 80%+ domestically with possibility of limited international travel
- Experience on complex capital equipment with related subsystems such as vacuum, manipulators, High Voltage systems, general mechanical, and PC’s
- Electrical, electronic & mechanical skills
- Must be able to identify and fix issues down to a board level
- Must meet all requirements to access and work with ITAR-controlled information and materials
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work overtime (This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA))
