Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain internet, video, and phone services by upgrading connections, running interior and exterior wiring, and diagnosing signal or connectivity issues. Replace network components and coaxial cable while performing speed tests, ping tests, and trace routes. Train customers on equipment usage and ensure compliance with FCC, NESC, OSHA, and company standards. Maintain vehicles, tools, and documentation accurately while delivering exceptional customer service. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, and physical capability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift up to 90 pounds, and operate ladders.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers
- Ability to operate handheld technology and field service applications
- Ability to read maps and navigate service areas
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Experience using testing equipment such as: Signal Level Meters (SLM) Volt-OHM Meters
- Ability to maintain accurate records, work orders, and service documentation
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 90 pounds
- Ability to carry and safely operate extension ladders (up to approximately 28 feet and 75 pounds)
- Ability to work at heights, including rooftops and utility poles
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, pull, and grasp regularly
- Ability to distinguish between wire colors and sizes
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and work near electrical equipment and power lines
