Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical transformers and related equipment at customer sites. Perform transformer diagnostics including insulation resistance and ratio testing, interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, document service activities in detailed reports, and provide technical support to customers. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to company and customer requirements. Travel up to 50-75% to customer sites (domestic and occasional international travel may be required). Maintain and manage service tools, equipment, and company vehicles, and uphold safety procedures and customer-site policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered
- 3+ years of experience in electrical equipment service, industrial maintenance, or transformer service preferred
- Experience working with medium or high voltage equipment is highly desirable
- Experience in power distribution equipment, switchgear, or transformer manufacturing environments is a plus
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and power distribution equipment
- Ability to perform electrical testing and diagnostics on transformers
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Familiarity with transformer components, including windings, bushings, tap changes, and cooling systems
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
