Job Summary
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues involving industrial alternators, generators, and rotating equipment while troubleshooting AC/DC systems and controls. Use multimeters and diagnostic tools to identify faults, read schematics, and perform on-site repairs ensuring compliance with engineering specifications. Provide technical guidance to customers and partner with internal teams to resolve complex issues, documenting all work in detailed service reports. This role supports Marathon Electric's power generation portfolio within the WEG Group, requiring extensive travel up to 100% across industrial and outdoor environments.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of field service or related industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with alternators, generators, motors, rotating equipment, or similar industrial equipment
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and controls
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience using multimeters and other diagnostic and testing equipment
- Mechanical aptitude, including experience with bearings, alignment, and rotating assemblies
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage your time
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively—up to 100%
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- An Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
- Experience with industrial alternators or synchronous generators
- Knowledge of PLC systems and control panels
- OSHA or other applicable safety certifications
- Previous customer-facing field service experience
