Job Summary
Respond to, diagnose, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on manufacturing equipment while performing preventative maintenance and calibration to ensure optimal performance. Install, commission, and troubleshoot new manufacturing equipment and control systems, then document all service activities, repairs, parts used, and time spent in a CMMS. Provide technical support and training to production operators on equipment operation and basic maintenance while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. This role requires a valid driver's license and frequent travel to customer sites within the Wayland, MI area.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., electronics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance) or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and control systems
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
- Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other automation components
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex technical issues independently
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently to customer sites
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Certifications in relevant technologies or equipment (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics)
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for logging service and managing parts
- Prior experience in a manufacturing plant environment
