Job Summary
Install and service overhead doors, docks, dock levelers, springs, and cables while ensuring proper installation, clearance, and balance. Maintain various commercial and industrial specialty doors, equipment, and accessories. Deliver customer service by responding to inquiries honestly and pleasantly. Read technical documents, write job notes and service tickets, and apply logical troubleshooting to mechanical, electrical, and construction challenges. Requires valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and experience with hand and power tools.
Required Qualifications
- one or more years of experience installing and/or servicing overhead doors and docks, or other similar mechanical, electrical, construction, or field service
- Be a master of hand and power tools
- Possess mechanical aptitude that enables you to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges
- Be a team player who can also work independently
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues and customers
- Have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
- Be capable of regularly lifting anywhere between 50-100 lbs
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as product manuals, installation guides, instruction books, safety information, drawings, prints, schematics, diagrams, and troubleshooting guides
- Ability to write accurate, complete, and neat job notes, service tickets, work summaries, and other records and documentation
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, third-party experts, and co-workers
- Strong basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals) and ability to effectively read and utilize a tape measure
- Ability to think methodically and apply a logical step-by-step approach to work
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with many different variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
