Job Summary
Diagnose and repair laser machining equipment at customer sites by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues. Perform repairs, rebuilds, adjustments, and system testing while reading schematics and documenting service findings. Support clients via phone for remote troubleshooting and maintain clear professional communication throughout the process. Requires proficiency with hand tools, precision measurement equipment, and voltmeters, plus the ability to handle lifting up to 50 lbs. Full training provided on high-tech laser machinery with a schedule of Monday–Friday travel, home on weekends, and all travel expenses covered.
Required Qualifications
- Proven technical aptitude
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical troubleshooting
- Proficiency using hand tools and precision measurement equipment (e.g., voltmeters, multimeters, gages)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain a rigorous travel schedule (typically Monday–Friday)
- Ability to lift 20–50 lbs as needed
- Good visual and color acuity
Desired Qualifications
- Military technical training/certifications or an Associate/Technical degree
- Experience using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, or similar tools
- Background repairing mechanical components (ball screws, bearings, gearing, way systems)
- Experience with precision measurement tools (indicators, micrometers, gage blocks, optical comparator; laser interferometer or ball bar is a plus)
