Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing industrial equipment across North America; duties include installing aftermarket parts and products, testing systems for proper operation, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues and identifying repair solutions, educating customers on preventative maintenance schedules, preparing quotes and sales orders for spare parts and consumables, completing service reports and documentation, communicating service activity and recommendations to customers, supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment, and traveling domestically and internationally for training, installation, and service support; travel approx. 75% annually; travel across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico with a focus on strong customer relationships and independent work.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent technical experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Service Technician (industrial environment)
- Strong mechanical skills (Conveyor systems, Bearing replacement, Chain/sprocket systems, Wear part replacement, Equipment leveling and alignment)
- Strong electrical skills (Low-voltage troubleshooting, Electrical panels, 480V systems)
- Strong pneumatic systems experience
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Familiarity with ABB and FANUC robotic systems
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, multimeter, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work flexible hours based on customer schedules
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel approximately 75% annually throughout North America
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation
