Job Summary
Diagnose malfunctions in electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks by reading work orders and listening to equipment during operation. Perform mechanical repairs after inspecting protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices, then lubricate moving parts and drive the vehicle to verify conformance. Record repair details, model numbers, and hour meter readings on work orders, obtain customer signatures, and communicate repair needs or completion status. Submit time cards and paperwork to the service administrator by 9:00 a.m. daily, including fuel receipts and invoices. Represent the Equipment Depot professionally while maintaining the cleanliness of the service van.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- One to Three months related experience and/or training
- valid driver's license
- clean driving record
- knowledge of internet software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
