Job Summary
Service, repair, assemble, and recondition equipment in a field setting while diagnosing basic problems and ordering correct parts using electronic manuals. Perform required inspections, maintain detailed working records and driver logs, and care for all field truck tools and machinery. Communicate repair status to Service Admin and update customers upon completion, suggesting additional repairs as needed. Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations while maintaining a clean work area. Travel as required and complete continuing education through Factory Service Schools.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Applied Science, Diesel Mechanics, Diesel Technology, or related field
- 1 year of technician experience in heavy equipment or industrial equipment industry
- Vermeer Technician Certification within 6 months of start date
- Background check
- Pre-employment drug testing
- Clean driving record
- Valid unrestricted Driver's License
- Ability to maintain a valid unrestricted DL throughout employment
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Valid DOT medical card
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to talk and hear 100% of the time
- Ability to be exposed to extreme weather elements, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat regularly
- Ability to withstand moderate to high noise level in working environment regularly
- Regular attendance
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Strong PC proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suite
- CDK
- Bilingual
