Job Summary
Travel to customer sites to assist with the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of CNC machine tool equipment and controls. Support the diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components while identifying performance issues and assisting with preventative maintenance to maximize machine uptime. Use technical documentation to research and resolve machine issues, then communicate service status and completed work professionally with customers. Complete service documentation accurately and build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and manufacturer-led seminars to continuously develop knowledge of Tsugami product lines and evolving CNC technology.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical, electrical, or maintenance experience (academic, internship, military, or hands-on experience welcomed)
- Interest in CNC machinery, automation, or manufacturing technology
- Basic ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics
- Valid driver's license
- Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises
- Ability to concentrate and remain focused while prioritizing multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects
- Ability to sit for prolonged period of times
- Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavyweight material up to 50 lbs. with assistance from equipment or other employees
- Ability to frequently use hands and arms
- Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment
- Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas
- Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work
- Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with hand tools and precision measuring equipment is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and service documentation tools)
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
