Job Summary

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical distribution systems at industrial and commercial sites. Perform instrument transformer, power transformer, and protective relay testing using specialized equipment. Assist with switchgear, circuit breaker, and automatic transfer switch testing while collecting and documenting electrical testing data. Gain hands-on exposure to system startup, commissioning, and PowerDB software under the guidance of experienced technicians. Travel locally and regionally to customer locations, adhering to strict safety protocols and flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, or extended hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Must currently be serving on Active Duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Must be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program.
  • Must have sufficient time remaining on Active Duty to complete the approved SkillBridge training period.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be willing and able to travel locally and regionally; travel requirements may vary based on training location and customer assignments.
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules based on customer and training requirements, which may include occasional nights, weekends, or extended hours.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to meet applicable Shermco safety, background, driving, and drug and alcohol screening requirements.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior NETA certification or electrical testing experience
  • Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to learn electrical testing and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, data entry, Microsoft Excel, and other standard business applications.
  • Comfortable working in industrial, commercial, utility, and field environments.
