Job Summary
Perform new unit start-ups at customer locations nationwide and worldwide on Vapor Power steam generators and thermal fluid heaters. Assist customers and service technicians with troubleshooting controls and circuits, while conducting burner combustion and operation testing on production units prior to shipping. Provide field service and phone support to customers, completing weekly trip reports and writing technical documents for instruction manuals. This role requires approximately 80-90% travel, with trips generally lasting less than five days and completed during the work week. Company credit cards, tools, test instruments, and a laptop are issued. The position is full-time, based in one of our plant regions, and offers medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with writing, loading, editing, and troubleshooting programs for PLC controllers and HMI devices
- Must have excellent electrical and mechanical trouble-shooting skills
- Must be able to read and follow electrical wiring diagrams and piping diagrams
- Must be comfortable using hand tools, test meters, and a combustion analyzer to set the fuel/air ratio of fired burners
- S work authorization required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with and enjoy working with PLC and HMI devices
- 3 years working with PLC and HMI devices preferred
- Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley controllers is preferred
- 3 years' work experience in fields related to the required skills and preferred education
- Experience servicing boilers, burners and steam generating equipment is helpful
- HVAC background helpful
- B. S. Degree or A. S. Degree in an Engineering Technology field is a plus
- Equivalent/related military training focusing on servicing hydraulic and pneumatic systems and devices, combined with electrical troubleshooting will be considered
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
