Job Summary
Conduct on-site installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment, fiber optic facilities, and customer premise equipment. Identify defective cable locations using test equipment and repair buried, aerial, and underground lines while performing cable fault acceptance tests. Respond to dispatches for trouble support and maintain orderly logs of locate requests to prevent facility damage. Provide proactive sales and education on TDS products and services to customers while completing all related paperwork, timesheets, and inventory tracking. Operate vehicles with manual transmissions and maintain company vehicles, adhering to safety policies and DOT requirements. Utilize MS Office and plant record systems to assign facilities and update system maps.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines
- Requires being available for on-call/standby responsibilities
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed
- Upon hire, must successfully complete customer-specific requirements, which may include a background check administered by the customer
- Upon hire, must successfully pass all components of the Safety Course curriculum
- Ability to maintain DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements in relation to operating vehicles with a combined GVRW (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of >10,000 lbs
- A+ certification

- Practical knowledge/experience with computer applications including (but not limited to): Databases, Trouble/Repair/Dispatch Systems, Plant Record Systems, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel
- Ability to work and make decisions independently with little or no supervision
- Demonstrated customer service and sales skills

- Must reside within a 60-minute driving distance from the Anderson, CA warehouse located at: 18025 Olinda Road, Anderson, CA
