Field Service Technician (Surface drills) / Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Summary

Inspect mining equipment for performance faults, adjust systems, and repair or replace defective components according to specifications. Commission new machinery and train customers at site locations. Test repaired units to verify operational performance and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists while staying current with industry best practices. Perform risk assessments, maintain tools, and ensure strict compliance with safety policies and PPE requirements. Schedule includes 14-14 drive-in drive-out rotations subject to change.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required
  • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts (as required)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant trade certification (red seal is considered an asset)
  • At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset
  • Previous experience with equipment would be an asset
  • Common Core training is considered an asset
  • Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
