Job Summary
Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic on Sandvik Field Service team: responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mining equipment and components per specifications; perform commissioning of products including pre-delivery and customer-site commissioning; conduct root cause analysis to solve standard problems; identify components and provide preventive/ cost-efficient repairs; support customers by suggesting improvements; supervise and coach junior staff; ensure safety procedures and PPE compliance; travel to mining sites across Western Canada with a 2-week in/out rotation, assigned company vehicle, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in a Mechanical Field
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment (asset)
- Excellent proficiency in reading schematics
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with mining equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Western Canada as required
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts (as required)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
