Job Summary
Heavy Duty Mechanic (Underground) responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical aspects of surface mining equipment and components per defined specifications; commissioning new equipment and training at customer sites; inspect equipment, adjust and replace defective parts, test for proper operation, participate in continuous improvement, and maintain records. Requires relevant trade certification (Red Seal asset) and 3+ years of mining-equipment experience; proficient in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics; valid driver's license and willingness to travel across Canada; strong communication skills and commitment to safety and ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification (Red Seal asset)
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset
- Proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
