Job Summary
Field Service Engineer / Service Technician provides on-site troubleshooting and repair of Salvagnini equipment, delivers customer support and training on state-of-the-art systems from standalone machines to highly flexible automated installations, and performs on-site modifications. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repair, customer training, detailed reports, and adherence to SOPs with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Requires a 2-year associate-degree in mechanical or electrical technology or equivalent experience, strong mechanical/electrical know-how (conveyors, gears, hydraulics/pneumatics; PLCs; servo motors; controllers), PC communications, excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication, and willingness to travel up to 75% (domestic and international). Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Word) and strong problem-solving, organizational, and customer-facing skills; must be able to lift 75 lbs and possess a valid passport and driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- A 2-year degree in mechanical or electrical technology or equivalent work experience in the field
- Military experience or practical work experience in a similar field will be considered
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy and fast-paced work environment
- Adaptable and able to think on your feet; tackle new challenges or tough conversations head-on
- Strong organizational skills and follow through
- Fluent in PC use as a development and communications tool; MS Office/Excel/Word skills
- Knowledge in mechanical devices (conveyors, pulleys, gears, hydraulics/pneumatics valves and actuators)
- Knowledge in electrical devices (PLC’s, servo motors, controllers)
- Knowledge in PC communications (serial/parallel, Ethernet)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Valid passport and driver's license; ability to obtain rental vehicles
- Travel up to 75% with frequent US and occasional international travel
