Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on Caterpillar engines, equipment, and dealer support equipment at assigned field locations outside of the shop. Responsibilities include following safety protocols, using diagnostic software (SIS, CAT ET, DBS, ServiceLink, Time Collection), inputting repair information, ordering parts, tracking hours, and completing service reports. Must troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems, repair powertrain components, safely operate related equipment (forklifts, cranes), and contribute to process improvements. Requires a High School diploma or GED and journeyman level experience (or 5 years equivalent), with a clean driving record and strong computer/technical skills. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Journeyman level shop technician or 5 years equivalent level experience
- Flawless motor vehicle driver record
- Able to repair engines, including Tier 4 Final systems, conduct engine failure analysis, repair fuel and lubrication systems, perform fluid sampling
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems
- Remove, install, test, adjust, troubleshoot, repair and replace powertrain systems
- Able to safely climb up and down equipment
- Computer and technological literacy
- Basic hand tooling and drive tooling up to 3/4”
- Writing and grammar skills
