Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment breakdowns, managing and developing Valway Engineering Services associates, scheduling maintenance for process and material handling equipment, analyzing downtime events and implementing corrective actions, maintaining spare part inventory, tracking associate performance (safety, quality, productivity, attendance), overseeing labor costs including training, overtime, and premiums, ensuring equipment is maintained by qualified and trained personnel, developing training records for direct reports, coordinating scheduling of Valway engineering and maintenance personnel to meet production demands, leading daily team maintenance activities to meet operating standards, motivating engineering services associates and technicians, assisting with equipment acquisition and installation within budget, monitoring contractor safety programs, overseeing utility functions to reduce costs, and ensuring equipment meets environmental and regulatory permit requirements; this role collaborates with the Valway ES Leader on plant facilities maintenance and repairs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of Engineering Services experience (fabric finishing preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Financial acumen and business sense
- Supervisory experience and ability to provide constructive feedback
