Job Summary
Install, terminate, label, and test Layer 1 structured cabling systems including copper and fiber optic networks, routers, switches, VoIP phones, and wireless access points. Perform cable certification, troubleshoot physical connectivity issues, and maintain accurate documentation of installations while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Read network diagrams and blueprints, install patch panels and racks, and travel to customer sites as required. Maintain an active TS/SCI Security Clearance and work independently in field environments supporting secure voice, video, and fax communications for government leaders.
Required Qualifications
- An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in equipment installation and delivery with a strong understanding of IT equipment
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces
- Valid Driver's License
Desired Qualifications
- BICSI certification
- Experience with fiber optic termination and testing
- Familiarity with cable certification tools (Fluke or equivalent)
- Previous experience supporting a government and/or Department of Defense customer
