Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for both in-office support and hands-on field work at customer sites. Responsibilities include logging and responding to customer support inquiries, troubleshooting by phone or email to determine parts and services, generating quotes for parts and services, interfacing with engineering/spare parts/operations to resolve issues, understanding the assembly, operation and maintenance of PDC diaphragm compressors, scheduling self-travel to sites, and performing mechanical/electrical work to install/repair parts and equipment. Travel up to 75% annually to customer sites; field work may include refurbishing compressors/parts, performance testing, and generating service reports. Requires experience with high-pressure hydraulic/gas systems, rotating equipment, field rigging, safety training (LOTO), and the ability to lift 50lbs. Passport and valid driver’s license required. Normal office hours are 8am-5pm, M-F, with overtime possible depending on travel and customer site hours. PDC Machines is an Equal Opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in the assembly, industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing fields
- Experience with high-pressure hydraulic and gas process systems
- Rotating equipment experience
- Swagelok, cone/thread tubing experience
- Electrical experience with control panels, explosion-proof enclosures (Class I Div. 2), relay logic, PLCs, HMIs, up to 600VAC and 24VDC
- Understanding of mechanical principles (torque, load, heat, force, compression, energy)
- Experience with field rigging, safe lifting practices
- Lock out, tag out training
- Must travel to customer sites up to 75%
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must have a passport or obtain one
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Field service work indoors/outdoors in all environments
