Job Summary
Field Service Technician with on-site electrical systems responsibilities including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical panels and equipment. Duties include conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance, directing on-site contractors, diagnosing electrical issues, coordinating travel for field service trips, performing FAT and SAT, documenting service activities, and training customers on equipment operation and maintenance. Requires reading electrical schematics/drawings, use of multimeter and hand/power tools, ability to run conduit and pull wires, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Travel and on-call availability expected; manufacturing and field service experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Five+ years of experience in a manufacturing or field service role
- Experience in reading electrical schematics and drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble and install fabricated equipment
- Ability to use multimeter, hand, and power tools
- Ability to run conduit and pull wires
- Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of senior technicians
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
- Location in (Houston, TX or Youngstown/Brookfield, OH area) required
- Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check
- Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four-plus hours at a time
- Ability to stoop and bend for four-plus hours
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and at heights
- Ability to work on call 24/7, holidays, and weekends for out-of-state travel
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery (lull, forklift, manlift, etc.)
