Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical aspects of underground mechanical cutting equipment at high-profile mining and tunneling sites. Perform new equipment commissioning and customer training with minimal supervision while inspecting for faults and adjusting defective components. Complete accurate time records, technical reports, and parts lists, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Work underground and surface with approximately 50% travel via company vehicle. Maintain compliance with all safety policies and stay current with industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- strong mechanical or electrical background
- strong diagnostic skills
- comfortable with underground and surface conditions
- 50% travel
- Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields or equivalent years of professional field/technical experience
- minimum of 7 years industry related experience
- Technical experience to include diesel, low voltage, and high voltage electrical
- Success in team environments
- excellent communication skills
- Previous success in self-motivated roles
- Previous success in customer satisfaction
- Ability to read blueprints, and interpret equipment schematics
- Active Listening skills
- Success with both internal as well as external customers
- Flexibility in the workplace
- Mechanical cutting experience
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States on an indefinite basis without employer sponsorship
