Job Summary
Resolve customer issues to maintain maximum uptime on conveyor-driven automated sorting systems for parcels. Perform regular preventive maintenance inspections, install new equipment, and execute upgrades while managing parts inventory and on-site tools. Instruct less experienced technicians and review service updates or installation instructions to implement recommended actions. Respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls within established response time goals, seeking ways to improve service timeliness and quality. Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction through cooperative communication and knowledge of sort plans and dispatching procedures. Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, applying strong electronics, mechanical, and software skills to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Flexible to work any shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays
- Strong electronics/electrical background
- Solid mechanical knowledge
- Ability to apply software skills and knowledge to our equipment
- Ability to use hand and power tools and measuring equipment i.e. oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.
- Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
- Full range of motion and unrestricted mobility
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good time management skills
- Strong customer relations skills
- Clear and concise verbal and written communications
- Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions independently
- Ability to persuade/influence others in sensitive/confrontational situations
- Basic computer skills: DOS, Windows, UNIX, Microsoft Office
- High school graduate or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years related industry/equipment experience
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer a 2-year degree or certification in electronics/advanced mechanics/software training
- Experience may include previously working on industrial equipment, or similar conveyor driven systems within material handling or e-commerce
