Job Summary

Field Service Technician for Johnson Controls installs, services, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains retail products and equipment (Inventory Control and Video) at customer sites, tracks service calls via computer, maintains accurate parts inventory to ensure first-time fixes, and demonstrates/trains customers on equipment use. Requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, physical ability to perform labor (up to 50-70 lbs) and climb/enter tight spaces, and willingness to travel; offers competitive pay and benefits. Includes company vehicle, tools, and equipment provided; training opportunities; and safety focus through Zero Harm.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years Associates degree in Electronics and/or Networking, or technical military equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3 years prior work experience in related field
  • Competent basic EAS and Video training and certifications
  • Willing to obtain or have State License as required (state dependent)
  • Mechanically adept; able to use hand and power tools
  • Able to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints and scope documents
  • Communicate effectively (written and oral)
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic PC skills
  • Ability to mentor and train others
  • Experience with electronics and networking fundamentals
  • Network Certification - Full competency in required networking fundamentals
