Job Summary
Conduct on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance for IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations to ensure uptime and support production needs. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation issues using testing tools, perform software upgrades on WAT units, and provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams. Establish and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs, document service actions, submit expense reports, and assist Senior Technicians during complex jobs or escalations. Travel frequently, averaging 70% of the work week, including overnight trips, while holding a valid driver's license and adhering to flexible scheduling that may include weekends or holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license/Real ID with a good driving record and/or passport
- Ability to travel frequently, including overnight travel, by car or air, averaging 30% of the work week
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays based on customer needs
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., carry tools or parts up to 20 lbs., and maneuver equipment using carts weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to bend, squat, walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods while performing field service work
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, electronics, automation, etc.)
- Equivalent field service experience
- Experience in packaging automation systems
- Experience using PC applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, for documentation and reporting
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters)
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, wiring schematics, manuals, and assembly drawings
