Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of IPG products; conduct product demonstrations, provide maintenance support and training to in-house staff; establish preventive maintenance programs; assist in testing and evaluating new products and equipment; document faults and issues; communicate effectively with customers; travel up to 50%+ of the work week; must read technical diagrams, use multimeters, and present technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences; requires strong customer service and organizational skills, ability to work independently, and a valid driver’s license. Work includes maintaining records, submitting work orders, and ensuring service quality in accordance with service agreements; role emphasizes electronics, electromechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- Associate degree in technology field preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Broad knowledge of electronics and electromechanical principals
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Travel requirements include overnight travel, potentially exceeding 50% of a work week
- Valid state driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and carry parts up to 20 lbs
- Flexibility to work extended hours including weekends and holidays
