Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer sites. Duties include installation, preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues, providing on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams, documenting service actions, and supporting large-scale installations and escalations. Requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, ability to work independently, travel up to ~30% of the week, and ability to lift heavy equipment. Must possess a valid driver’s license/Real ID or passport for travel and be able to read technical diagrams and manuals. Customer-focused with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred
- Equivalent field service experience considered
- Valid driver’s license/Real ID or passport for travel
- Ability to travel frequently, including overnight travel, averaging 30% of the work week
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
- Experience with electrical and electromechanical systems
- Experience with packaging automation systems preferred
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and move equipment up to 60 lbs
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays
