Job Summary
Field Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on engines in CHP/DG systems (Jenbacher gas engines and related equipment). Responsibilities include interpreting safety documents and mechanical diagrams, using diagnostic tools, and coordinating with customers. Requires strong mechanical experience, ability to travel including overnight, willingness to work in a shift/on-call schedule, and solid communication skills. Prior experience with Jenbacher engines is preferred; candidate should be able to work independently as part of a team and provide excellent customer service while leveraging basic IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook). Must be capable of operating in multi-cultural environments and travel to assigned remote locations in California (Sacramento and Fresno).
Required Qualifications
- Must have prior mechanical experience such as automotive, power generation, heavy equipment or diesel engines
- Experience reading safety documents, schematics and other mechanical diagrams
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairs of an engine
- Strong customer service mindset and strong skills to drive and support service teams
- Willingness to work in shift model (depending) and on call
- Fluency in English a must
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Experience working with electrical or mechanical systems
- Jenbacher engine experience preferred (field experience)
- Ability to travel including overnight travel
