Job Summary
Field Service Technician responsible for on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of IPG products at the Hackensack, NJ location. Requires travel up to 50% of the work week, including overnight travel. Duties include performing on-site installations, repairs, and maintenance, conducting product demonstrations, providing maintenance support and training to in-house staff, establishing preventive maintenance programs, documenting faults and service activities (RMA requests, work orders, reports), assisting in testing new products, and communicating technical concepts to customers. Must use basic tools and PC applications, understand technical diagrams, and maintain accurate records of service performed. Strong customer service and organizational skills required; ability to work independently and flexibly, including extended hours and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- Associate degree in technology preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Broad knowledge of electronics and electromechanical principles
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Valid state driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to travel overnight up to 50% of a work week
