Job Summary
The Field Service Technician role involves installation, troubleshooting, and repair of manual and CNC milling machines, lathes, saws, grinding, and metrology machines at customer sites. Candidates must have at least an Associate degree or equivalent experience, along with 1+ years in a related field. Key responsibilities include maintaining service van inventory, completing service reports, and ensuring all required training and certifications are current. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work independently, and have basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. This role requires a 40-hour work week with up to 10% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent college or technical school; 2 years relevant experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of machines/milling/metrology.
- Understanding and following electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics, and ladder logic.
- Ability to use basic electrical testing / diagnostic equipment and possess a basic understanding of AC and DC electrical theory.
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in a similar/related field.
- Moderate levels of product knowledge, preferably obtained through hands-on experience.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
