Job Summary

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications products including fiber optic and copper cable, telephone equipment, and customer premise equipment for new and existing customers. Perform splicing, fault acceptance tests, and locate defective cable using test equipment while marking underground facilities to prevent damage. Respond to dispatches, operate construction equipment, and climb poles as required for outside plant maintenance. Provide proactive sales support by educating customers on TDS services such as telephony, video, and internet solutions. Maintain orderly logs of locate requests and enhance record systems for network elements.

Required Qualifications

1+ year basic technical telecommunications experience
current/prior military service with honorable discharge
6+ months of basic fiber optic and/or copper cable splicing and repair, installation and repair, or switch training
valid driver's license
ability to maintain DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements in relation to operating vehicles with a combined GVRW (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of >10,000 lbs
ability to operate vehicles with manual transmissions
reside within a 60-minute driving distance from the Happy Jack, AZ warehouse
willingness to work overtime as needed
ability to work and make decisions independently with little or no supervision
ability to multi-task
ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
ability to identify customer needs and provide communications solutions
ability to exceed customer expectations by performing extraordinary customer service
ability to proactively educate and sell TDS products and services to customers
