Job Summary
Conduct first-line troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical, controls, and software issues for Proterra OEM customers during vehicle installation and development phases. Execute hands-on repairs for mechanical mounting, high/low voltage systems, and diagnostics by collecting CAN traces with CANalyzer and using measurement tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve complex issues autonomously while providing training support on safe product handling and diagnostic procedures. Maintain strict confidentiality and build trust with technical contacts across the automotive and EV industry. Perform 40-50% travel to support customers in strategic locations, ensuring robust collaboration between Proterra and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience in the electric vehicle industry
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Commercial bus, heavy truck, or automotive vehicle systems development or integration experience
- Good driving record
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting
- Experience with hands-on training
- Experience with mentoring
- Use of electrical measurement devices (digital multimeter, megohmmeter, milliohmmeter)
- Ability to work in manufacturing and development environment
- Travel: 40-50%
- Location: Remote

- Relevant EV certifications
